Fabian Perez is an Argentinian-born, Los Angeles–based artist renowned for his emotionally charged figurative paintings and distinctive “neo-emotionalism” style. Born in 1967 in the Buenos Aires region, he was shaped by the vibrant cultural atmosphere of the city, where he began painting at a young age. His early experiences and international journey through Italy, Japan, and ultimately the United States helped form a deeply expressive visual language centered on memory, atmosphere, and human emotion.
Perez is best known for his evocative portraits and cinematic scenes of dancers, musicians, and intimate nightlife moments, as well as his acclaimed “Living Legends” series featuring figures such as actors, athletes, and spiritual leaders. His work captures not just physical likeness, but the psychological and emotional presence of his subjects, often rendered through dramatic lighting, fluid brushwork, and a strong sense of narrative.
Now based in Los Angeles, Perez continues to paint from his studio while exhibiting internationally and maintaining a strong presence in the contemporary art world. His practice blends traditional figurative techniques with a modern emotional intensity, resulting in works that are both timeless and deeply personal. Through his paintings, he invites viewers into a world where gesture, memory, and emotion converge.
